Designing for Social Good

Objective: Goal 6

Design a product that can be a solution towards solving any Goal for the United Nations. The project must fit within the area of goal and can benefit reaching achievement.

Access to clean water and sanitation is vital for all. Despite widespread water use, only a fraction is filtered for cleanliness, leading to distribution imbalances and disease spread. Efforts to promote clean water have had success. My goal: provide filtered water to every family globally, caring for our planet and water supply.

Research Background

  • While some brands are eco-friendly and chemical-free, others may have pH levels below 5.5, containing local contaminants and trace chemicals, leading to increased thirst. Choose wisely for safety.

  • UNICEF is working to establish reliable access to safe water and sanitation facilities in South Sudan, supporting Sustainable Development Goal 6.

  • Addressing the water crisis: Technology is key. With billions lacking safe water and sanitation, urgent action is vital. By 2030, demand could exceed supply by 40%, risking progress in key areas. Managing water resources effectively is crucial to combat scarcity.

Ideation phase

The initial process included different variation of ways to extract water. The product must handle extractions under wet environments, heavy duty, and also try to include a way to suppurate bacteria for use of consumption.

The Aqua Glass

Clean water and sanitation are essential for everyone. Although water is widely used, only a fraction is filtered for cleanliness, leading to distribution imbalances and health risks. Efforts to promote clean water have been successful. My aim is to provide filtered water to every family globally, protecting our planet and water sources.

Outdoor clean water methods include filtration, purification, and heat. If obtaining clean water is simple, why not make it enjoyable too? That's what "The Aqua Glass" does: it provides purified water in a fun way while also conserving it.
